Portland Japanese Garden

The Portland Japanese Garden has been a special project for me, due in large part to the time I spent in Japan in the 1960s with the Air Force. A highlight of that experience was a trip on the (then new) bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto, the cultural center of Japan, with all its magnificent gardens.

Special thanks to Rob Russell, who supplied me with a treasure trove of information on garden lanterns and basins.
